INGREDIENTS:

1) Buttercream Icing Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

- shortening

- butter

- cream

EQUIPMENT:

- hand mixer

- mixing bowl

2) In a large mixing bowl cream butter and shortening with electric mixer.

INGREDIENTS:

- vanilla

3) Add vanilla.

INGREDIENTS:

- powdered sugar

4) Gradually add in sifted confectioners sugar, one cup at a time beating on medium speed.

EQUIPMENT:

5) Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all of the sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.

6) Add milk and beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.

7) Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to decorate. For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not using.
